It looks like The Voice winner Cassadee Pope is embracing the genre that helped lead her to the victory on The Voice 2012 and she has signed a recording contract with Republic Nashville. That is right folks, she started out a rocker and know she is going country. The Voice Season 3 winner officially made the announcement today, so that did not take that long for the winner to sign to a recording label. Do you think Cassadee will do well on the country charts?
During the season, Cassadee hit the top of the iTunes charts when she took on Miranda Lambert’s song “Over You.” It was the start of many country songs she sang on Season 3 of The Voice. Now she is signing with a country label and she is excited about it: “I am so excited to be joining the very talented Republic Nashville family. I am so passionate about my music and I couldn’t be more excited to have this amazing team to back me as I embark on this next chapter in my career.”
The recording label really wanted her, as Big Machine Label Group President Scott Borchetta said: “Each week Cassadee continued to knock down big country songs by Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and Faith Hill, and after she won we were THRILLED to find out that Cassadee was on the same page with us and wanted to come to Nashville. The BMLG Team is over the top excited about Cassadee Pope!”
It should be a good signing, as Cassadee’s best-of album for The Voice did very well on the Billboard charts. So, do you think she will do well in Nashville?
